A July 2026 community walkthrough reports a Choso route around the Silver Chariot Tunnel and associates a Death Painting with use while Standless. That report is a useful lead, but the official game updated again in September. Confirm the NPC, item wording, and required empty state in your server before consuming anything.
Locate the Choso route
Use the map and location guide to identify the tunnel named by the current game or community route. Look for an NPC or interaction that explicitly names Choso or the related quest. Do not use an item merely because you reached a similar tunnel.
Speak through all dialogue and open the quest tracker. Record the quest title, first objective, prerequisite, and required equipped state. If no quest appears, check whether the route begins from an item rather than the NPC, but wait for the live Death Painting description to confirm that relationship.
Community wording sometimes contains transcription errors. Match the in-game term Standless rather than copying a misspelled label from a guide. Your visible ability state matters more than the article text.
Protect the Death Painting
Read the full item name and description. Keep it out of the quick-use slot until your current quest or prompt names the expected result. Store any valuable Stand or Spec before becoming Standless; a reset may be irreversible without another obtainment route.
Clear an inventory or storage slot for the result. Capture your before state: equipped ability, Death Painting count, Mastery, quest stage, and server. Then use the item once only when the live conditions match.
After use, inspect the response, equipped ability, inventory, and quest tracker. If the item disappears but nothing changes, stop rather than consuming another copy. Return to the quest NPC or rejoin once after preserving evidence.
If there are combat stages
Read the verb
Defeat, damage, obtain, and use are different checks. Copy the current text before starting.
Test one target
Compare the counter before and after one eligible action. Confirm assists or final hits if relevant.
Keep the required state
Do not equip another Stand or Spec midway if the objective checks Standless or Choso-related progress.
Return at completion
When the counter clears, revisit the named NPC and capture the next stage instead of guessing.
Use a repeatable target route and watch the tracker. If progress fails, verify the exact enemy, location, equipped ability, and party rules before continuing.
Controlled verification sequence
Troubleshooting
If the NPC is missing, compare the tunnel and surrounding landmarks with the dated walkthrough, then try a current public server. The route may have moved, gained a prerequisite, or become event-dependent. Do not conclude permanent removal from one empty server.
If the item will not activate, confirm Standless, exact item variant, quest acceptance, Mastery, and storage space. Wait for any cooldown and do not spam Use. If the quest counter is stuck, perform one action on the exact target while solo and inspect the result.
If a trade is the only available source, verify the full item name in the official trade window. Reject substitutions and promises to supply the item after a first payment. Personal progression value may exceed a public tier estimate.
Finish and store the result
After the final live condition is satisfied, make sure the reward is visible under the exact name. Check whether it equipped automatically or entered storage. Reopen menus if the interface lags, and record the current route for future use.
Do not immediately reset the result to test another path. Learn the controls and confirm the quest has fully cleared first. If a follow-up stage appears, keep all remaining named materials until it finishes.
Verification status: Silver Chariot Tunnel, Death Painting, and Standless are supported by a July 8, 2026 community route. Exact current NPC position, acquisition source, stages, costs, and reward require in-game confirmation.
